Suzuki V-Strom SX Sets Record on Ladakh Expedition
November 8, 2024Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) announced the successful completion of the V-Strom Expedition – Ride Through Impassable. This remarkable 18-hour journey across the rugged terrains of Ladakh, on the Suzuki V-Strom SX, has earned a place in the India Book of Records for the Highest Top 9 Mountain Passes Covered by a Two-Wheeler.
The expedition, which took place on September 11-12, 2024, saw the V-Strom SX cover an impressive 780 km across some of the highest and most challenging mountain passes in India. The ride began at 7 PM from Tanglang La and reached Umling La by 1 PM the following day. Along the way, the team of six riders conquered nine major passes, including Khardung La (17,582 feet), Marsimik La (18,314 feet), and Umling La (19,024 feet).Equipped with a 250cc oil-cooled engine and Suzuki’s advanced Oil Cooling System (SOCS), performed flawlessly in the extreme conditions of Ladakh. With temperatures dropping below freezing and the route including both paved and unpaved roads, the robust design, exceptional handling, and dual-purpose tires proved invaluable. The bike’s upright riding position and solid stability made it the perfect companion for such a grueling journey.
